OK, it's semi-official, Benilopax and TX (that's me), will almost definitely be filming the whole event using university-loaned equipment. I'm multimedia student, and should know how to use the cameras properly. lol.

O M F G ! !
There is going to be video edvidence of my drunken antics?
Yes :-)
Thanks to the University of Essex who will be loaning me/us the equipment, even though they probably think it will be for educational purposes, and thanks to me, for having a non-profit mildly amusing website for media of a mildy or heavily entertaining nature. As yet, the website contains nothing much of interest, but just so you can get a feel for the site, it's www.txdp.co.uk - please, don't flame it just 'cause it's rubbish. I have just started my month's Easter break from the University, and I intend to fill the website with some useful stuff, which includes the London Player Gathering. This will also serve as a practice run for the Fan Fest 06 in Iceland, which I hope to also be filming :-)

*Feels the pressure to deliver a camera on the night*
It's not 100%, just 99.999999% definite that I will be there with a camera.
Please don't kill me if it doesn't happen :-S

Myself, Leafo, Lowa and Draximus Cane are all in the same hotel.
Which one?
There's probably no internet in his hotel, so he can't tell you :-) If you are in a hotel with the internet, then he's not there... I got confused already.

GREAT NEWS!
Short story: I WILL be there with a camera, and I WILL be making a documentary about the player meet.
Long story: After being let down by my uni for deciding to not loan out equipment, I tried to tinker around with my equipment at home (no puns, please). I've gotten my Hi8 camera linked to the composite input of my VCR. The RF output of the VCR is connected to an RF input on my computer, and using a program that came with my computer called 'InterVideo Home Theatre', I can record, in varying degrees of quality, the RF input on the computer. So, following the signal through the system, if I play back some recorded footage on my video camera, I can record it at approximately VCR quality onto my computer. Which may sound bad, but compared to the compressed, low resolution final product that I will be making, it's pretty high quality, which is just spiffing.

I'm setting up a page on my website for my photos and videos of the event - if anyone wants to stand in leceister square for some kind of interview, that' be cool.
I just spent the last money I have on another battery for my ancient Hi8 camera, which I will be using, due to the fact that the uni have let me down. The rest of my money will pay for parking at Leceister Square car park, which will be ú32 from the afternoon until the early hours of sunday morning. I'm having to apply for an overdraft and borrow some money from my GF to do this for you guys, so I hope at least one of the hundred+ of you appreciates it :-)
Please expect a few rough highlight video clips sometime sunday :-)
Will post in forums when the final thing is finished. :-)
SEE YOU ALL TOMOROW! as little as 15 hours to go until some of us reach the Square :-)

Originally by: DJ Xyliana Firstly, Thank you everyone for turning up, even the extra hundred and some that didnt signed up but popped out.
I am sorry for those of you that could not get in, the bouncers were alittle paniced at 7pm there was almost 300 upstairs and thank you so kindly to BOB, Salmiss and all the others that moved their parties downstairs to make more room.
I must say that I have never met such a nice group of people, of course I was worrying that everyone was having a good time and it was lovely to see that everyone's spirits were kept high even though it was a bit of a tight squeeze.
And... I would love to organize again, the response was amazing hitting over 350 eve players. Next time however with the agreement of everyone I think tickets miht be in order, only in the range of ú1 just for a larger venue...this time with broadband
Sounds like I could edit a film, and put it out before I even go home... :-) ----------------- LONDON PLAYER MEET Media Thread Mining |
